Ex off island #16 : Snow hiking

Heading to nowhere

Winter or snowing had been a stranger to me in my whole life until this year.
This post will be about my journey on knowing snow even better
as I am literally hiking in the snow.

This is a trip organised by our German teacher. Sehr Gut!!Danke
For a dude that came from a country that never snow,
this is really CRAZY but FUN :)

Snow path

Basically we went for a hike in Appenzell, Switzerland.
It is really near to St.Gallen.
In the beginning, everything was nice flat ground with snow on the side.

We have to walk through some residential area and everything was fine.
Somehow, the surrounding was very misty and hazy

where you literally lost sight of anything around you from 10 meter ahead

The journey get tougher when the residential trail ended 

and the surrounding got even more misty/hazy than before.
So we were walking in a mist where you will not know what is ahead of you..
Better be careful or you might be lost.
Actually, in the middle of the way we did lost track from the group..haha.

.but all is good later on :)

Now thing got even tougher when the path we were supposed to use were blocked.
Hence, we have to use another trail which are tougher as we need to hike up.
Another problem is that the snow on the ground was up to my knee level even higher.
It is so tiring as we need to hike up against gravity,we also need to overcome huge amount of snow.

At some point, I fell down and just felt like sitting there...but is worst off if I do that,haha

The problem doesn't stop there, as I did not tied my shoe lace tight enough,
there are snow gather inside my shoe and
that make my leg felt very uncomfortable and cold.....cold feet for real.
I do not know about others but for me is pretty extreme
but seriously,it was special and still FUN!! : )

Not to forget,our reason to hike up is to reach a restaurant...hmm...very interesting restaurant indeed ;)

Anyway, we did reach the destination and everything was awesome.

Before we reach the restaurant, we also have to walk through a forest full of pine tree and

 thank god it is a flat ground with not much snow gather along the path and that is great...cheers!!

The feeling of reaching the top is really something special.
Maybe is really normal for other but for me,
that is really pretty extreme as I said and reaching the top can let you felt the feeling of achievement.
Especially, when I am the person who normally hiked on the hill with ant,bird and monkey,
now I have to hiked a hill with white snow and a lot of them....that is special.

After a great and delicious hot meal, it time to move again.....

Somehow, we use an alternative path go down the hill and that path is actually much easier.
It make me question why did not use that trail earlier??hmm...
Anyway, a little bit of extreme element does make the trip became way more fun 

as it might be a little boring if everything was just flat and normal.

The fun does not stop there as we started to play with the sledge along our way down.
It not skiing but still it is really nice. 

All you need is the plastic sledge and find a suitable path way and we did found it.... so, let's go!!

Finally after a few sledging session, and walk, we reach the bottom.

This trip make me know more about snow,haha...
Actually is just figurative speaking, all I know is how to play with it,nothing much,haha
But this definitely will be an exposure that i never have along my life in Malaysia.

Anyway, everyone was tired and is time to catch the train to go back to St.Gallen.
